A lecturer at the University of Leeds, Pete is the go-to authority on South American football and contributed to two seasons of the South America Files for These Football Times.
In 2020, Pete obtained his Doctorate with a thesis on how football was used to bring peace in Colombia. He has turned it into a book, Football and Nation Building in Colombia, which praises the role of President Santos in uniting people from both sides of the divide.
