A Lincoln City fan, Ian lived in Washington DC and saw Major League Soccer thrive in the 2000s. His book Rock’n’Roll Soccer emerged just as he was leaving for Germany, where his exploits in amateur football provide him with material for his Referee Tales blog. Ian has written for When Saturday Comes and published a book of football stories, For Whom The Ball Rolls, in 2001.
