Arsenal fan Ibrahim realised an ambition in August 2021 when he released his first book No Longer Naïve. It’s a comprehensive history of African nations in the FIFA World Cup, stretching back to the 1930s but finding most success in the recent decades.
Ibrahim gives equal weight to politics and sport, as you cannot divorce the football exploits with the various shenanigans of each country as they gain independence, fight wars and bicker about payments.
