Birmingham City fan James was enthralled by the Glasgow Rangers side of the early 1990s, especially in their Battle of Britain with English champions Leeds United in the first modern incarnation of the Champions Cup. During lockdown James realised an ambition to write The Fix, a book about that 1992/93 UEFA Champions League which was won by Marseilles. Yet as the book’s subtitle suggests, something was ‘lost’ that year.
