Stoke City fan Liam now lives in Barcelona, which is apt as recently the Midlands team were known for playing an expansive passing game which imported the rondo style to Stoke.
In 1999, however, young Liam witnessed a change of ownership and management. Tony Pulis steered Stoke back into the second tier following a play-off triumph and, with the help of Icelandic owners, kept the team in mid-table. Liam tells the story of when the club was ‘Twinned With Reykjavik’ in a book which takes readers up to 2006.
