The latest pro with prose, Man City Academy graduate Nedum had an impressive playing career with City, QPR, Sunderland and Real Salt Lake (pictured). He played under-21s football for England and declined a call-up from Nigeria.
He retired in 2020 having already started his Kickback with Nedum podcast, for which he has spoken to City superfan Noel Gallagher and a host of City players including Stephen Ireland, Joleon Lescott, Shaun Goater and Micah Richards.
Released via Biteback and written with Set Piece Menu host Hugh Ferris, Nedum’s memoir Kicking Back comes out 10 years on from City’s Premier League win. Nedum was in blue and white hoops that day playing for QPR, who stayed up while City won with the last kick of the season. The book runs through his career but also dwells on topical issues like race and identity.
