Description

Peter is a Renaissance man who has put his skills in goalkeeping, broadcasting and non-fiction to good use. He covered two World Cups for ITV in 1986 and 1990, has written a history of goalkeeping and has worked for many years at the Financial Times.

In 2016, he wrote a book about the year 1966, which marked ‘The End of Old-Fashioned Britain’. Comprising memoir, social history, football reportage and some incredible tales of living in Islington, Peter’s cast includes Harold Wilson, the Kray twins, Geoff Hurst and various North London spivs. We spoke 55 years to the day since England's World Cup triumph on July 30 1966.
