The Last Busby Babe is the title of Sammy’s memoir, written with Wayne Barton. Having been given a pro deal by Sir Matt Busby, Sammy played for United for over a decade across the middle of the park. Having been a mainstay of several teams in the 1970s as the era of Best, Law and Charlton came to an end, Sammy left the club just after his testimonial but remains both a fan and a pundit.
Sammy’s book also details his time playing at the 1982 World Cup for Northern Ireland and a managerial career which took in spells in the dugout at Macclesfield Town, Stockport County and Morecambe.
