In what can only be described as a busman's retirement, former newspaper man Tony Rickson has published three books since 2020: Gooaal! is about football celebrations; Football Is Nothing Without Fans is self-explanatory; the latest book Kicking On is a hymn to players who moved into new careers or activities after retirement. There will be a fourth book soon enough.
