"Gator Shoes" draws inspiration from 70's blaxploitation movies such as Super Fly and The Mack, where pimps were always seen flashing a pair of freshly shined alligator shoes on their feet. J-Lektro propels listeners into a landscape of snaking synths and modulated kicks that snap together in succinct patterns, infusing super fly groove into an oscillation of bass and galactic beats. With distorted vocals and a Claude Von Stroke vocal sample coalescing, J-Lektro manages to bring forth a tech-house beauty sophisticated in nature and slick in execution.
