At the Community Music Center in San Francisco, Mexican-born, musician and teacher Martha Rodriguez-Salazar helps students make music for the joy of it.
Along with her ensemble, the Bernal Hill Players, Salazar helps audiences enjoy music based on the place of it. She spoke to KALW’s Jen Chien about commissioning composers from San Francisco and Mexico City to create work inspired by both.
