All of the stories you heard on today's episode of "Crosscurrents" were produced in partnership with the student reporters at Mills College in Oakland. But making radio is not just about securing the interview, getting great tape and writing a script. It is also about putting your personal voice to a story. Students work for months on their pieces before that moment comes at the very end: when they venture into the the recording booth, the headphones go on and they read from scripts that have been scrutinized for weeks. But sometimes the experience doesn’t always go as planned. Fortunately, the tape is always rolling, allowing us to create a special outtakes reel for our listeners.
