In this episode, we see Satan get into the minds of the Israelites. Instead of consulting God on a possible alliance, they make the foolish choice to believe a group of travelers who turn out to be lying to them. We see that, even when we get it wrong, God is still in covenant with us, and we should also honor our word to others.
