Keeping it on the low and having an outsider outlook, Joop had been an influental figure in techno scene for a while now. Richie Hawtin's Minus, Dubfire's SCI+TEC, John Digweed's Bedrock and 2000 and One's Bitten had been blessed with his music; Crobar in Buenos Aires, Output in New York City, Showcase in Paris, Lantern in Beijing have witnessed his spiritual techno sound in action; Time Warp, Awakenings, Family Park gave the opportunity to spread the word into masses. Each live performance gets Joop deeper into the sound, securing his position in techno premiership, each heavily-supported release helping him to find his own sound, his own ideology, his own technique. His own space.
Joop's music is one step closer to God, almost religious experience. He is not interested in trends. He does not believe in hype. To fully understand his sound, you just have to be there, in the moment.
