For 518th episode of DJ Mixes, we welcome a Dutch duo; a two-man crew behind the infamous Rebel Yard (@rebelyard), known for their wild approach to electronic music. Ladies and gentlemen - meet DJ Jerry and MC Ruben, also known as The Partysquad. Big up!
I am pretty sure that you heard those names, probably more than once. These guys have rocked almost every spot and venue possible - from an intimate residences to big arenas, gathering tens of thousands of people, these guys are keeping up the title of one of most popular DJ formations in The Netherlands for more than 10 years. Today, they are counting their releases on such labels as Spinnin Records (@spinninrecords) / Rebel Yard, Universal / TopNotch (@topnotchnl),Mad Decent (@maddecent) and Dim Mak (@dimmakrecords).
Besides playing in the clubs, they are responsible for releasing many recognized club hits around the World. “A msterdamn” with Afrojack released on Spinnin, which became their best-selling record; “Hollertronix #10 / Murderer EP” with a grammy nominated DJ Diplo released on his own Mad Decent, followed by “Original Don” and “Mashup the Dance” with Major Lazer. With wild success of their releases, “The Badman Rave EP” was the gateway to their international appearance, being added to weekly playlists of radioshows, including Annie Mac, Benji B, Toddla T, and of course, Diplo and Friends at the famous BBC Radio 1 / 1Xtra, and much, much more.
These guys are just crazy, and their energy is contagious. Their performance style, as they describe themselves, can be classified as “creative chaos”. A crazy combo of Electro House, Reggae, Dub, Trap, and everything in between, will surely make your feet move. Sit back, relax, have a spliff and enjoy the Amsterdam’s very own The Partysquad!
