Syncopix:

I started mixing my parents´ oldschool compilations and recorded on mixtapes for friends and myself.

Around 85' I caught up with the New Wave and Synth-Pop sound. I got into everything from “Depeche Mode” to “Kraftwerk” and 70s Funk and Soul. Sometime later I followed up groups such as Hijack, Silver Bullet, Son of Noise or Gun Shot. It was hip hop and rap which accompanied me on my musical exploration. While playing all kinds of classic instruments I learned to play drums which lead to a logical progression to a faster and harder sound for listening.

In 1993 my first MK 1210's and a Vivanco mixer found its way into my bedroom. Vinyls would fly over them until 1994 the first D&B club called "De Underground/ Cubic" (Powerhouse, Hamburg) would open its doors.

In 2000 I started the Syncopix label as a platform for the music that coming out of my room. This pseudonym still stands for the production, the studio, and for my musical expression. The intension is to keep myself more in the background while the music does the talking.

Keeping it coming, I got in touch with the Hospital Records in London and they´d put out a tune called “Swollen” on their compilation series “Plastic Surgery 04 #2”. It followed by a 12” vinyl on their M.A.S.H. imprint “Soul secure/ Paris”.

The first official single “Happy-Happy, Joy-Joy” got licensed for the “Weapons of Mass Creation” compilation on Hospital Records. The 12” features the Hospital anthem “General Hospital” which is a tribute to the label. They also released the “Travellin´Man” single.

In 2008 I won 2nd time the German Drum and Bass award (future music award, best producer 2005 and 2007).

Also in this year I started a new project together with the Mojo-Club in Hamburg called “Rogue Soul”. It went straight into the BBC rotation playlist (“Be with you”), and the album got signed by the major label Edel Records.

I released my second album the Urban Symphonies in April 2009. Also in this year Hospital Records signed “Mr. Resident” for the SIIICK album. LtJ Bukem signed “So in need” for vinyl release on Good Looking Rec. and Spearhead has put its hands on tracks are called “Glossy” and “Stay In Touch” for a vinyl 12”. Dj Marky and S.P.Y. were remixed the track “Be With You”.

The year 2010 I started a new collaboration between Syncopix Records and the Vienna based label Blu:Saphir to work on a CD/digital label compilation for SYNC:SAPHIR. This platform is focusing on the more minimal and deeper drum n bass genre, featuring like Enei, Mr. Sizef, Joe Syntax and many more.

After a few studio switches and sound adjustments in 2015 I got back to work on my new Album which will be released early this year.
