Lithuania and South Africa enjoy warm and cordial relations. South Africa is amongst the first countries to recognise the newly independent Lithuania on 28 August 1991. This was subsequently followed by the establishment of diplomatic relations on 20 November 1991. Lithuania increased its presence in South Africa by opening an Embassy in Pretoria in 2015. Ambassador ZN Dlamini is South Africa’s non-residential Ambassador accredited to Lithuania. Ubuntu Radio had a conversation with the Ambassador of Lithuania to South Africa, Her Excellency Ms R Jankaskauté.
