Across the UK and Europe we find ourselves back in lockdowns.
In this episode, I question the price being asked to be paid by small businesses and call upon all of us to unite and support each other.
As the world focuses in on a single set of numbers and bombards us with them day and night, are we really aware of the costs of our governments’ current tactics? We conceptually understand that many small businesses are closing, many jobs are being lost, economies are crashing, mental health issues are rising, domestic violence is up, cancer deaths are on the rise, and that old and vulnerable people are being imprisoned “for their safety”, and so on. But seemingly no one is counting those numbers and no one is sharing them. Can you imagine if we were constantly receiving updates on these statistics? What if those numbers were constantly being bombarded through media? Would we be so quick to agree with our governments current strategies?
Regardless of wether you agree or disagree with the current tactics being deployed, don’t you think we should know all the numbers and not just the ones that justify our governments’ courses of action?
