Because in business you don’t get want you want by being a good little boy or girl!
I see too many ‘nice’ entrepreneurs doing ‘good’ things struggling financially or to grow their businesses. It’s like the childhood lesson, of “if you’re just good enough and nice enough, a stranger will pop down the chimney and bestow upon you all you want.” It’s a lovely Christmas tradition, but it’s a terrible life lesson.
That’s not to say you shouldn’t still be nice, generous and caring, just that that isn’t what creates success. It brings its own rewards, but not business growth or financial results.
Be nice and do good things, because it’s nice to do good things, but never forget, success comes from doing the ‘stuff’ that creates success.
