Before coming to American Progress, Mia advocated for disability justice and inclusion at nonprofit organizations and businesses across the United States. She joined guest hosts Dr. James Peterson and Keir Bradford-Grey on Wake Up With WURD to discuss the impacts of Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” on disabled people, the cuts to Medicaid, and Medicare and the recent Department of Labor’s Section 14(c) rollback.
