Description

Monica Simpson is the executive director of “SisterSong”: a Southern-based, Black women-led national reproductive justice collective. Sister Song was formed in 1997 by 16 organizations of women of color from four mini-communities (Native American, African American, Latina, and Asian American) who recognized that they have the right and responsibility to represent themselves and their communities.

Monica joins the show to further talk about the reality of being a Black woman seeking care in an anti-abortion America, and how to go about achieving reproductive justice.
