In the third instalment of understanding the state of the church, Ps. Andre shared about what it means to be a missional church, reminding us that the gospel is not an evacuation project, but a call to transfigure a lost and broken world. Breaking down Genesis 12:1-3, Ps. Andre highlighted that God’s promise to Abraham (and by extension the people of God) is that He will bless the world through His people. This adds gravity and emphasis to the purpose of the church - that we exist to be a blessing to the world, and to participate in God’s mission.
Ps. Andre shared 3 practical ways to participate in God’s mission - Standing Up Against Injustice, doing Meaningful Work, and Making Disciples of Christ. May we, in all that we do, apply a conscious filter to seek God’s kingdom first.
