“Laodicea saw themselves as rich, but were actually spiritually poor. This is in contrast to Smyrna where they were poor, but spiritually rich. The Laodicean church suffered from self-sufficiency, and were deluded in thinking they had it all.” - @janicechinchern
Ps. Janice continued our sermon series, Let Them Hear, with a study on Jesus letter to the church of Laodicea, a church that although was prosperous and rich, was spiritually poor and unaware of their poverty. May our response be to live dependent on God for sustenance and righteousness, so that we do not become ineffective, but effective witnesses for Him; putting our hope and trust not in money, enjoyment of the world or creature comforts but to live in dependency of God.
