Speaking from the book of Malachi and the life of John the Baptist, we learn what our priestly calling is, which is primarily to revere God, and stand in front of Him in awe and trembling. We are called to live faithfully, putting the first things first and letting everything else apart from God fade away.
May we be like John the Baptist and be a people who see God rightly, who are willing to say 1000 ‘no’s to the world for the 1 ‘yes’ to God, who will not be preoccupied by what our own dreams are, but stop to consider what God’s dreams are - not just for us but our families, our friends, our community, our society - and make space in our hearts to carry and partner with Him to fulfil those dreams.
