In this episode of the Friday Artist Profile we talk with Yaasha Abraham who serves as the Artistic Director and Director of Education for Planeta Azul, Brazilian Entertainment Group. Yaasha educated us the work Planeta Azul does in the Chicago Public School system to not only teach dance and music but to also to address the Emotional and Social Learning of the students. Yaasha also talked to us about traditional Ethiopian dance,and how we see its presence here in the U.S., from the shoulder shimmy of the late great Michael Jackson to the hair whip of sorrorities like Alpha Kappa Alpha.
