Our guest is veteran journalist Dilshad Ali, whose covered Muslim in the United States for nearly two decades. She currently serves as the Blog Editor for Haute Hijab, the leading hijab company in the U.S., where she’s in charge of covering and coordinating coverage of all things pertaining to Muslim women. Dilshad also personally blogs at the Muslimah Next Door on the intersection of faith, family, and autism . We talk with her about the tragedy in New Zealand where 50 Muslims were killed in a senseless display of hate, as well as presence of Muslim women in the media, and about her autism advocacy.
In the second half we talk with Abdullah Mitchell, Executive Director of the Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicagoland about the agenda for this years 11th annual Illinois Muslim Action Day.
