Description

Alabama's state legisltature recently passed the most restrictive abortion law in the nation fully expecting that it will end up being litigated in front of the U.S. Supreme Court. In the meantime, there are some Muslim leaders applauding the decision as a moral victory, yet offering no real solutions to the millions of women impacted by this decision. We talk with Scholar/Activist/Writer Donna Auston of Rutgers University who offers commentary about this decision; the impact of the white evangelical polical mass on women and other minority communities (Muslims included), and more.

In the second half we're joined by Radio Islam Culture Contributor Layla Abdullah-Poulos who talks with us about the upcoming Muslim Writers and Publishers Association's upcoming conference in Dearborn Michigan. Layla shares some of the benefits of the conference, and also talks about some of the expectations placed upon Muslim, and Black Muslim, writers.
