اللهمَّ اجْعَلْ لي نوراً في قَلبي، ونوراً في قَبري،
Allahumma ij‘al li nuran fi qalbi, wa nuran fi qabri
Oh Allah grant me light in my heart, and light in my grave
ونوراً في سَمعي، ونوراً وفي بَـصَري،
Wa nuran fi sam‘i, wa nuran fi basari
And light in my hearing and light in my sight
ونوراً في شَعْري، ونوراً في بَـشَري،
Wa nuran fi sha‘ri, wa nuran fi bashari
And light in my hair, and light in my skin
ونوراً في لَحمي، ونوراً في دَمي،
Wa nuran fi lahmi, wa nuran fi dami
And light in my flesh, and light in my blood
ونوراً في عِظامي، ونوراً في عَصَبي،
Wa nuran fi ‘izami, wa nuran fi ‘asabi
And light in my bones, and light in my nerves
ونوراً من بين يَدَيَّ، ونوراً من خَلْفي، ونوراً عن يَميني، ونوراً عن شِمالي،
Wa nuran min bayna yadayya, wa nuran min khalfi, wa nuran ‘an yamini, wa nuran ‘an shimali
And light between my hands (in front of me), and behind me, and to my right, and to my left
ونوراً من فَوْقي، ونوراً من تَحْتي،
Wa nuran min fawqi, wa nuran min tahti
And light from above, and light from below
اللهم زدني نوراً، وأعطني نوراً، واجعل لي نوراً
Allahumma zidni nura, wa a‘tini nura, waj‘al li nura
Allah increase me in light, and grant me light, and place for me light
Ibn ‘Abbas narrated that the Prophet r used to recite
the last ten verses of Aal ‘Imran followed by this du‘a before Fajr.
