Among Denver, CO’s dubstep scene, both Sectra and Trisicloplox have garnered reputations of their own. The long-time friends and serial collaborators are leading the charge for an abrasively subversive movement within the genre, which can be summarized in a single word: Distortion. The producers weave inspiration from genres like metal and noise, to a result that is dark, violent, and apparently inaccessible to the casual listener. But these artists’ sound is more than simply static screams. The pair is up to something much deeper - and today’s sound system community is slowly catching up.
