Isolation is now available on all streaming platforms!
I made 'Isolation' during the final lockdown in Melbourne in 2021. Even as I write this, I hear echoes of what I wrote for my previous release, 'The Space Between', which was created in a similar environment.
I wanted to explore that feeling of repetition, that feeling of isolation and inertia, through the music I put together for this track. It's the way I've felt since coming to Melbourne; the irony of the situation being that I came here for a fresh start.
There are a lot of elements that adhere to this idea of inertia. To name a few: the synth pad that drones through the track, the movement of the pluck, constantly stuck within its finite loop, speeding up, slowing down, always moving, never going anywhere.
Yet, all is not lost. There is growth in repetition and isolation. One cannot fight the circumstances of change. One cannot control their environment, only their own self.
One of the greatest things I learned in the last two years is to accept what I cannot change and deal with the situation at hand however I can.
I have a lot more coming for 2022. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
