Description

Having failed to find anything but football results for the city of my birth on my birthdate, I looked to my adoptive country for the same day, and came across an article in the Christchurch Press, which I found interesting. The article describes Mrs Vivian Lynn's art, inspired by cabbage trees and Pacific coastlines. I was particularly taken by the quote that "too often, art lovers are confused and baffled by critics' remarks and 'see with their ears'". I imagined how music turns this on its head, and we can be encouraged to 'hear with our eyes' if we're not careful.

Inspired By Cabbage Trees, appeared in the Press (Volume CVI, Issue 31186) - article text is used under a Creative Commons BY-NC-SA 3.0 New Zealand licence. Copyright Stuff Limited.
