Description

I recorded the ambience in my office/home studio with seven different microphones. During some of the recordings there was reasonably heavy rain outside. I then loaded the recordings into HY-Plugins' HY-Slicer 2 and recorded a several tracks amounting to the noise of the room. I increased the gain slightly on these and then recorded some passages. These were then sent to my modular where they were passed through a home-made vactrol and a vactrol-based low pass gate. The vactrol was opened by an envelope generator in the modular, controlled by CV sent from an envelope follower on one of the tracks. The signals were then mixed into the originals.

The vactrols constituted light processing 😀.
