Here, each voice is put in shadow by its own harmonic filter. The sounds passed through are those that represent the edge, or umbra, that remains once the sound has been largely blocked by the harmonic filter. There are numerous voices that come and go, in addition, the filter lessens as the middle of the track is reached and increases again as the track ends. This represents the sun's travel through the sky as the day progresses.
