Description

The Catholic Church has a rich history of stepping up to offer services to society at times when the state has struggled to provide for all. One of the Church's strongest suits, then and now, is heath and social care provision.

It is the largest non-government provider of health care services in the world and the Vatican's Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Health Care Workers has reported that the Church manages a quarter of the world's health care facilities.

In this 'Catholic News' podcast, recorded back in February 2017, we spoke to our Lead Bishop for Healthcare, Bishop Paul Mason.

In this podcast, we got to know Bishop Paul a little better, discussed his years of experience as a hospital chaplain and looked to the future of healthcare chaplaincy and the need to bring our uniquely Catholic perspective to this vital role.
