The UK Home Secretary, Amber Rudd MP, addressed the Santa Marta Group Conference this morning (27 October) and set out the UK government's position on human trafficking and modern slavery.
"Modern slavery is a stain on our society. It's an evil in our midst and it's happening here and now. In nail bars, on high streets, behind plain front doors where women are imprisoned for sexual exploitation. In fields where people are forced into back-breaking agricultural labour."
