Today our 'Reading Luke in Lent' series starts in earnest - and where better to start than at the beginning.
Luke, Chapter 1: 1 - 25.
The Gospel of Luke begins in a formal manner addressed to Theophilus and sets out Luke’s credentials as a historian. The narrative begins with the events leading up to the birth of Jesus, the only Gospel to do so, starting with the foretelling of the birth of John the Baptist.
'Reading Luke in Lent' is a series of simple podcasts for the Lenten season offering a daily reading from St Luke - covering the Gospel from start to finish - from Ash Wednesday to the first week of Easter.
