I haven't been doing a great deal of editing my old, original lyrics. It was a deliberate decision at the start of this AI project. I used Suno's AI assisted capabilities to bring a little life to these often forgotten lyrics, and I had over 250 songs to work through. OK I know there is an argument for quality rather than quantity, but these songs are a personal history and are a reflection of the time they were written.
This song has been different, after a few iterations using varying genres (and I never did write with a genre in mind - they were for me to sing and strum along to) I kept seeing a reason to do more than change a word here and there. So I looked very carefull at the song, because it is not the same "crap" I usually wrote, and I hoped to improve it a little. I spent a lilttle more time on it using experience from the past 66 years of songwriting, I also spent more time on the prompts, but SUN has a mind of it's own......
Any way, I am really pleased with this version, I hope you like it as much as I do.
