Matt Hughes is back with a brand new single! As a tribute to the 1981 movie and the title track, Matt has just released a new powerhouse cover of Sammy Hagar’s classic song Heavy Metal! “I have always loved this song and so I decided to do my own cover of it with some special guest musicians!’
For this track, Matt recruited the talents of Ace Frehley and Black Swan drummer Matt Starr, Dokken and Lynch Mob bassist Sean McNabb on bass and backing vocals, Jimmy Kimmel Live House Band guitarist Toshi Yanagi on rhythm and lead guitar with Matt on rhythm guitar and lead vocals.
The track was engineered and mixed by L. Stuart Young and mastered by Harry Hess at HBomb Mastering. The artwork was created by Jean Michel (dsnsart.com), with photography by Julie Smith.
This song will be included as a bonus ‘digital only’ track on Matt’s forthcoming album ‘Revolution’ which will be released late 2022 or early 2023!
