Description

As RN's at Johns Hopkins Hospital continue their campaign to form a union, the hospital pushes back with intimidation tactics and a campaign of disinformation. “Many units are hemorrhaging experienced nurses, which puts our patients in danger and our licenses at risk. When one nurse has to double their patient load, so their coworker can take a much-needed break, our patients are in danger. When nurses are forced to pick up overtime shifts in order to support themselves and their families, our patients are at risk", a quote from the Organizing Committee letter. This week Nurse Talk spoke with RN Danny Andazola about the campaign. Danny has been a nurse for five years and is part of the efforts to form the union. The nurses at Johns Hopkins reached out to National Nurses United, the nation’s largest organization of RN’s with over 150,000 members nationwide.
