Disquiet Junto Project 0687: Applied Science
The Assignment: Record a piece of music that explores physiological and behavioral techniques.

I wanted to record a tape loop as a physiological rhythm and I tried to use a cheap cassette to mp3 recorder that I had bought some years ago (and never used until today). It didn’t work at first and instead I just recorded some noises.

The result you hear is the tape loop, as I finally managed to record, and two tracks of noises that serve as pads (low filtered noise) and texture (hi filtered noise, reverse).

So nearly everything here was in the beginning physiological and happened involuntarily, but the result is my composition by choice, and so it is behavioral. (Biologists: please forgive these rough descriptions...)

There is a nicer ten minute version with additional pads and strings, but for me this version felt more true to the assignment (and it felt enough).
