As kids we are promised the American Dream only to find our American Reality as adults is steeped in violence, systematic racism and capitalism over humanity. This is the sound of the moment you see it.

As I wrote “American Reality”, it became less of a song and more of a social commentary on the history happening around me. The murder of George Floyd sparked nationwide protests and unrest over the injustices that minorities have been facing for decades. I sing this song as a citizen seeing their government neglect its people and prioritize profit, while those meant to protect and serve are the ones doing the most harm. After re-watching Adam Curtis’ documentary “HyperNormalisation”, I knew that this video had to be raw and real. We hope it connects with you.

We put together this video to show the REALITY we live in and hope to spark some small change in this world.

LYRICS

See sometimes I forget
All the things I have
And I just sit here mad
And wonder why
I’m always complaining

And all my friends
They don’t care about me
They don’t care about me
These days
The whole wide world
It don’t care about me
It don’t care about me
These days
And all my friends
They don’t care about me
They don’t care about me
These days
The whole wide world
It don’t care about me
It don’t care about me
These days

And I know that I’m lucky
To have what I got
But I’m also unlucky
Cause of what I’m not
If I just finish this song
Maybe I will be OK
Cause it feels like

All my friends
They don’t care about me
They don’t care about me
These days
The whole wide world
It don’t care about me
It don’t care about me
These days
Another cigarette now
I think I’ll sit in my dreams
I think I’ll stew in myself
These days
The whole wide world
It don’t care about me
It don’t care about me
These days

I give a lot
To get a little
I lose a lot
To love a little
What’s going on
Is I keep crying
Cause all my

All my friends
They don’t care about me
They don’t care about me
These days
The whole wide world
It don’t care about me
It don’t care about me
These days
Another cigarette now
I think I’ll sit in my dreams
I think I’ll stew in myself
These days
The whole wide world
It don’t care about me
It don’t care about me
These days
