Autumn marks the transition between summer and winter. The shedding of the leaves turn northern countries into a colourful scenery as the days become shorter. Lot of people getting struck by a seasonal affective disorder or winter blues even though fall has this kind of magic.
Autumn, especially in poetry, has often been associated with melancholia. The possibilities and opportunities of summer are gone, and the chill of winter is on the horizon. Skies turn grey, the amount of usable daylight drops rapidly, and many people turn inward, both physically and mentally. It has been referred to as an unhealthy season.
It was about time to invite the Antwerp based ambient producer Autumna as winter soltice is slightly coming closer. Autumna describes perfectly the mood of fall with this one hour painting of sound.
Make yourself a hot coffee, get a blanket, lay yourself back turning the volume up to 10 and surrender to the inevitable winter blues.
