Parts 1-3 are made solely from the sound files supplied.
Part 4 also contains synthetic piano and string samples from an online image-to-sound generator.
The beauty of the supplied samples was that they weren’t just recordings of particular sounds – they contained the ambience of the place where they were made, some even with significant, identifiable background elements.
I wanted to make an extended, modulating soundscape that would represent this place of manufacture. Rather than one long piece, I decided on a suite, one which could conceivably be played back in such a location, which would sound entirely germane to its surroundings.
