Listen

Description

So, what would I hate to hear at 5 am in a dystopian future? Given that I’ll be nearly a hundred, probably just about anything. But especially a free-form synthesizer jam filtered through the sensibilities of the 80s Devin Townsend, the late Keith Emerson and Hans Zimmer in Blade Runner mode.

It’s not a synth. It’s me experimenting with the beta version of Paulstretch 3 (yes, it’s a real thing!), improvising on a random sample in a way completely unintended by the authors of the program late last night. Some subsequent liberties have been taken with the basic track in order to make it more listenable (ha!).

Image is by Simon Stålenhag, whose book "Tales from the Loop" I feel compelled to buy.
