Fans of nonsense poetry will recognize lines and images from two of Edward Lear's most famous poems: “The Owl and the Pussycat” and “The Jumblies”.
I wrote the song in 2004 and have performed it occassionally as a solo acoustic number without ever really capturing the darkness the lyrics demanded. Tot's precision percussion, Andrea (Foresto) Martini's freestyle electric guitar and Norbert (N.o.b.S) Meyer's bass guitar technique have provided that darkness.
I have done a number of collaborations with these three excellent musicians and have created a playlist of our combined efforts at: https://soundcloud.com/kcm069/sets/the-reservoir-dogs
I highly recommend a visit to their respective SC sites if you do not already know them.

Lyrics:
let’s sail away for a year or a day
to the shores of our own blue lagoon
hand in hand at the edge of the sand
we will dance by the light of the moon
the moon, we will dance by the light of the moon
far and few, far and few, are the lands where the pure of heart live
on a winter’s morn at the height of a storm we’ll go to sea in a sieve
we are creatures of light, we are creatures of darkness
‘tis a web of intrigue that we spin
the passage is dark, the voyage too long
and our friends all remark it is terribly wrong
to sail so far for our sin
far and few, far and few, are the lands where the pure of heart live
on a winter’s morn at the height of a storm we’ll go to sea in a sieve
let’s sail away for a year or a day
to the shores of our own blue lagoon
hand in hand at the edge of the sand
we will dance by the light of the moon
the moon, we will dance by the light of the moon
we will dance by the light of the moon
the moon, we will dance by the light of the moon
the moon
the moon
the moon
