Welcome to episode 73 [originally broadcast on Wednesday 1 December 2021] of #mhTV. This week Nicky Lambert and David Munday spoke with guest Paul du Buf about trauma informed addiction services.
Paul graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1994 and worked since in the area's of prevention, treatment, aftercare, dual diagnosis, training and innovation in addiction treatment services in the Netherlands and UK. In the UK he worked in the NHS, private addiction treatment centres and with several charity organisations. His innovative work whilst working at the South London and Maudsley received an award for clinical excellence. His 2 year pilot alcohol outreach project working with A&E patients in London was supportive to secure funding for a long-time research project. He became a Somatic Practitioner in 2019 as he wanted to expand his skills to work with the major driver of addictions that is trauma. He works as a freelance independent prescribing nurse, has a private practice and as an independent trainer he offers addiction services to transition into becoming trauma informed and trauma sensitive.
