Welcome to episode 88 [originally broadcast on Thursday 21 April 2022] of #mhTV. This week Nicky Lambert and David Munday spoke with guests Dr Jonathan Gadsby & Prof. Mick McKeown about Conscientious Objection and Mental Health Nursing.
JG - Jonathan is a research fellow at Birmingham City University. He teaches mental health nurses, social workers and psychiatrists critical perspectives about mental health and mental health services. His PhD research was about the political context of hearing voices.
MMcK - Mick is Professor of Democratic Mental Health, University of Central Lancashire and trade union activist with Unison. He has taken a lead in arguing the case for union organising to extend to alliance formation with service user/survivor groupings. Mick is interested in connections between industrial democracy and coproduction of services and co-edited the recent PCCS bookCoproduction: towards equality in mental healthcare.
