This is one that got away from me while I was doing A Frame Apart so I knew I had to check it off the list for the Steal My Name Podcast. John Ford’s The Searchers is a film that is mythic in the true sense of the word. One of the most important westerns, if not American films, ever made. It represents the culmination of a long journey with the western form that John Ford and John Wayne had taken together and set the stage for the genre to a enter a new, bleaker vision of the old west. Deep Space Nine gets down to some serious cheese with ‘Move Along Home’, and I stay on message with Michael Crichton’s posthumous trunk novel, Dragon Teeth.
