It's a double header for us at Pineapple Digital Music Group as we
simultaneously release, this all Canadian collaboration of Phrakture
& Maria Carmela, 'Something Useful' ep with remixes on both our
flagship label Pineapple Digital and our deep house label, Pineapple Grooves.
Torontonians, Phrakture and Maria Carmela combine their musical talents
to bring you this very complex, brilliant, delightful track.
We debut 2 new artists to the PD imprint, Lesh and the liquid DnB duo of
NU4M & Kije, and PD regular Platunoff to do the honors of remixing this track.
Something Useful (Original Mix)
The first artist to release a single on both Pineapple Digital and Pineapple
Grooves, “Something Useful” by Phrakture, is one sublime vibration to synchronize to.
It is truly an honor to receive this excellent single.
Something Useful (Instrumental Mix)
The instrumental mix of “Something Useful” is a bit of a treat in itself. Perfect for
mashups, the instrumental will undoubtedly keep you focused and relaxed.
Something Useful (Lesh Remix)
Lesh goes a little crazy with their remix of “Something Useful”, and picks up the
speed injecting the original with more build ups, more euphoria, and more melodic
progression for us.
Something Useful (NU4M & Kjie Remix)
Starting off the track with some distorted warbling, as if a cassette were winding
in your tape player, the remix of “Something Useful” by NU4M & Kjie is a gift we’re
satisfied with. A real treat. Some progressive style liquid drum and bass, done
extremely well.
Something Useful (Platunoff Remix)
Lastly on the EP, Platunoff graces us with a much more mysterious approach with
ambient echos of chords lingering in the air with the vocal chops of the original
sample, in his remix of “Something Useful”.
