We've been looking forward to this one for a while now: Episode #58 of the Meet the Locals Podcast by one half of enigmatic duo Pacific Fur Company features over two hours of quality sounds from across the electronic music spectrum. DJs take note: this is what we want to hear at DC House Grooves! Proper musical journeys lasting more than 60 minutes, taking us places we don't expect while keeping that vibe strong. Over to the man himself for a few words about the mix:
"I wanted to bring in a variety of textures and styles - there’s some ambient, acid, breakbeat, house, electro, vocal, and so on. I’m actually not so great about keeping one style on the sound system in general. It’s always seemed strange when there is an expectation of what you are supposed to be playing out, and if you don’t meet that expectation then the music you play isn’t worth consideration or participation. That model seems to be based purely on club economics, and it makes the music a pretty boring piece of the picture. Diversity in the scene, not just among the people involved but in the sound being broadcasted, has always been important to me - hope you enjoy. "
